Breakfast is known as ‘the most important meal of the day’, and for good reason.
We are renowned for our delicious breakfast at Castle Green and have over 60 menu items for you to choose from.
Come along and enjoy breakfast in our Greenhouse Restaurant.
Served 7am-10am Monday to Saturday and from 8am-11am on Sunday.
Breakfast can be delivered to your room if booked the night prior (£7 tray charge)
It can be very busy at peak times and as such there may be a short wait for a table.
This is often the case Saturday between 8.45 – 9.30am and Sunday between 9.15-10am.
If you would prefer not to wait then we recommend a slightly earlier breakfast to beat the rush!
GREENHOUSE RESTAURANT
We are proud to have created a unique dining experience that offers the best of Cumbrian cuisine in a contemporary environment.
First and foremost our food is delicious. We have an open kitchen and views over our gardens and onto Kendal Castle, arguably the best views Kendal has to offer.
Our Restaurant is open from 12pm to 9:30pm.
Our Room Service Menu is available should you wish to order a meal to your room.

Come and visit Alexanders, our traditional pub located within the hotel grounds.

Sunday – open – 12pm – 10pm, food available – 12pm to 4 pm (Sunday Roast menu only); 4pm to 9pm pub menu
LEISURE & FITNESS
Our swimming pool, steam room and gyms are available for you to use, free of charge. Take the lift to the ground floor.
Lockers, changing rooms and towels are available to you.
Please check opening hours, children’s swim times and bookable swim lanes.

STAFF NEWS
Our Gardener and Maintenance team, in 2023, won GOLD in the Cumbria in Bloom Tourism Awards, GOLD in the Cumbria in Bloom special award for biodiversity and also won the Cavendish Trophy. We would like to say a huge thank you to our garden volunteers, who have helped us maintain our beautiful gardens over the years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a hair dryer in the room?
You will find the hair dryer in your bedside table draw, hold down the button on the inside of the dryer.
Is there free Wi-Fi in the hotel?
Yes, click on your phone settings and then WI-FI. Select the network CastleGreen-Guest and then follow the instructions.
Is water available in the rooms?
A bottle of water is complimentary in the room on check in, any additional water can be purchased at the bar.
How does the heating work in my room?
The electric heater in your room has a built-in thermostat. The
heater is programmed for your convenience but the temperature can be
adjusted using the + / – buttons on the front of the heater. Those rooms with air
conditioning have instructions with the control panel on the wall.
Do I need to book a table for dinner in the Greenhouse and Alexanders?
Yes, we strongly recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment.
The restaurant serves from 12-9:30pm daily.
Alexanders Pub serves food from 12pm-9pm daily.
What time is check out?
Check out is by 11am (12 noon on Sundays).
We can store luggage for you at Reception prior to you departing the hotel should you wish. Please do let us know if we can offer any assistance with your bags. Late check out is available at £20 per hour (subject to availability).
Do I need to book the pool and gym?
There is high demand for the Green Rooms Spa so we strongly recommend booking treatments in advance to avoid disappointment. Check availability and book via www.greenroomskendal.co.uk/book.html

Last entry to the pool and gym is 9pm to exit by 9.30pm to allow for changing and the leisure club closing at 10pm.
Gym Facilities – No bookings required. A PARQ form must be completed prior to your visit and you must wipe down the equipment you have used with the spray and wipes provided.

6.30-9.30am & 5-7pm – Lane swimming only with 30 minute slots which must be booked via Reception (no children)
Swimming cancellations can be made for free up to 2 hours prior but any ‘no shows’ will be charged an admin fee of £20
9.30am-5pm & 7pm-9.30pm – Free swimming – no bookings required – note children’s swimming hours below
Children’s Swimming Hours 10am-12noon & 2-5pm
