HOW YOUR PERFECT DAY UNFOLDS
You’ve done the hard work – with as much help from us as you need – now it’s time to enjoy a magical day at 30 James Street. Here’s what you can expect:
ARRIVALS
Guests will make their way to the White Star Grand Hall at mid-day. There’s no better start to the day than in the Carpathia Champagne Bar – providing the perfect place for the groom, his best man and ushers to grab a drink to settle their nerves before the ceremony.
CEREMONY
All guests will take their seats as the groom awaits for the arrival of his beautiful bride. The happy couple will then make the vows they have always dreamt of saying to each other.
PHOTO TIME
The bride and groom are officially married! It’s time to celebrate and mark the occasion with those all-important pictures – which the newly weds will love to look back on throughout married life. There are many locations within the hotel to take formal photographs, especially the Carpathia Champagne Bar & Restaurant that offers breath taking views over Liverpool.
BUBBLY & CANAPES
Mid-afternoon is when the real fun begins. Guests will be served with delicious champagne and canapés upon arrival, allowing them to start the celebrations off in style.
FOOD & SPEECHES
Guests will be seated at their table in the stunning dining room. The bride and groom will have the option to be announced, which will allow them to make a grand entrance once all the guests are seated.
The first course and wine will be served to the wedding party, followed by the guests. The course will also be cleared from the newly weds’ table first and then from the guests’ table. Other courses will follow in succession, allowing everyone to enjoy the day, food and atmosphere.
Following dessert, champagne flutes will be filled with bubbly to toast the speeches. It is traditional for the bride’s father to make a speech toasting the happy couple, followed by the groom who will toast the bridesmaids and his beautiful bride. The pressure will then be on the best man to deliver a funny, heart-warming speech.
The newly weds will cut the cake, which can be served along with coffee. However, couples have the option to serve the cake later on in the evening.
THE FIRST DANCE
The bride and groom will take to the floor for their chosen first dance at approximately 7pm. The next dance is reserved for the bride and her father and the groom and his mother. The guests will then take to the dance floor, and the evening party begins.
THE NIGHT CONTINUES….
We can provide additional food for the evening, including everything from a buffet, bacon baps or cheese boards. Traditionally, all single women will gather as the bride throws her bouquet. Read more about our wedding packages.
Once they are ready, the bride and groom can retire to their rooms for their first night as a married couple, spent in our elegant and luxurious Presidential Wedding Suite that offers a whirlpool bath tub and stunning views of Liverpool – the perfect end to a perfect day.
